A Cleveland that supports, amplifies, and celebrates women — a community where gender justice is at the heart of our policies & practices.
Cleveland has immense pride and a deep commitment to being a community where everyone can be their full selves, belong, and thrive together.
Our region has a strong history of leading industrial innovation, social change, and political reform. As society evolves, we have the opportunity to lead again.
Why Women + Gender Justice?
Women anchor our families, communities, and institutions, yet they’re often the last to receive support and recognition. While this disproportionately impacts women, it negatively affects everyone. Research shows that when women are centered and empowered, the entire community benefits.
As policies and legislation securing women’s rights have regressed, violence and oppression of women and gender-nonconforming individuals continue to rise.
In 2020, Cleveland was ranked the worst US metropolitan area for Black Women overall and second worst for their economic outcomes.
While these realities are overwhelming, we have an opportunity, right here in Cleveland, to collectively support and join those working for change.
We’re a collective of individuals and nonprofits from across the region collaborating to uplift women in Cleveland. Our work comes from the heart and results in meaningful change.
