Women's Breakfast FAQs
Who is the featured speaker?
We are honored to welcome Wendy Chun-Hoon, Director of the Women’s Bureau at the U.S. Department of Labor. Wendy was appointed to this role by President Joe Biden. Prior to joining the Women’s Bureau, Wendy led Family Values @ Work, a national network of grassroots coalitions that have won more than 60 new paid-leave policies—bringing new rights to 55 million workers and their loved ones. She has also organized to win greater access to childcare, fair wages and employment conditions for workers. You can read more about Wendy here.
When and where is the Women’s Breakfast?Â
Wednesday, May 1st, from 8:30 - 10:30 am, at Gordon Green, located at 5400 Detroit Road. There is a lot with limited parking in the back of the building. If you do not have mobility issues, we ask that you consider parking on the street.
What will the format be?
Doors will open at 8:30 am. Please plan to arrive then or shortly thereafter to register, get your breakfast, and be seated. The program will start promptly at 9am and include a welcome from Collaborate Cleveland’s Executive Director, Abby Westbrook, remarks and discussion with Director Chun-Hoon, and a concluding spotlight on changemakers working tirelessly to advance women and gender justice. Â
The program will end at 10am with time for making connections and networking until 10:30 am. We promise you will leave more informed, connected, and hopeful than when you arrived.Â
Who Should Attend?
Anyone and everyone who is interested in learning more about issues impacting women and gender justice.Â
What is the cost to attend?
We have priced the tickets on a sliding scale so that the event is open to a wider range of folks. Tickets are priced at $50, $125, and $200. We ask that you consider what you can afford and purchase a ticket at that level. If you can afford a $200 ticket, you will be supporting others to attend who cannot afford the full ticket price.Â
We also have opportunities for corporate sponsorship. You can learn more here.Â
What's for breakfast?
Cousa Mamas will be serving up a delicious breakfast buffet. We will have options for omnivores, carnivores, vegetarians, vegans, and those who are gluten free. There will be coffee and tea as well as a selection of other beverages.Â
What is the dress code?
Whatever makes you comfortable that day. Come as yourself!Â
Will there be childcare?
If you want to attend this event and childcare is what is preventing you, please reach out to us at hello@collabcle.org. If there is enough interest, we will try to arrange for childcare.
